JON PLEXICO
MANAGING MEMBER
Has approximately 32 years of life science industry operational and advisory experience, including fourteen years as Principal and Founder of Stonepine. Previously, Mr. Plexico was Managing Director at Merriman Curhan Ford & Co., where he ran healthcare corporate finance focusing on private investments in public equity (PIPEs), secondary offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, Mr. Plexico was co-founding partner of Venture Ready Partners, a life science advisor providing capital raising services to private biotechnology companies. Previously, Mr. Plexico was employee #5 at Chemdex, an electronic life-science commerce company that grew to 500 employees and completed an initial public offering during his tenure. He began his career at Quidel Corporation, where he became National Sales Manager for the Autoimmune Division. He has served on the Boards of Directors of Zila, Inc., Immunetech, Inc., and Viveve Medical, Inc. Mr. Plexico is a graduate of Colgate University.
TIMOTHY LYNCH
MANAGING MEMBER
Has approximately 27 years of life science industry operational experience, including twelve years as a Stonepine Principal. Prior to Stonepine, Mr. Lynch was at Tercica, Inc., where he was the CFO. Mr. Lynch was instrumental in building the Genentech-spawned start-up into a public company which was eventually acquired by Ipsen for $650 million. Before Tercica, Mr. Lynch was the CFO of InterMune, Inc., where he helped build the company from a private start-up into a 300-person public company with multiple commercial products. Prior to that, Mr. Lynch was the Director of Strategic Planning at Elan Corporation. He co-led a team of people responsible for executing acquisitions and corporate financings. At Elan, he also completed training as a pharmaceutical sales representative and managed a field territory. Mr. Lynch began his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. and Chase Manhattan Bank in investment banking. He has served on the Boards of Directors of Aradigm Corporation, Allos Therapeutics, Bioform Medical, Insite Vision, Nabi Biopharmaceuticals and served as a member of Healthcare Royalty Partner's strategic advisory board. Mr. Lynch is a graduate of Colgate University and Harvard Business School.
JEFFREY NUNNENKAMP
COO & CCO
Joined Stonepine Capital Management LLC as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer in 2017. Prior to joining Stonepine, Mr. Nunnenkamp was Vice President of Alternative Funds Finance at PIMCO with responsibility for hedge funds finance and operations. With over 20 years relevant experience, his previous positions include Manager of fixed income portfolio accounting at Wells Capital Management, Second Vice President at Northern Trust where he managed the hedge fund administration group, and Supervisor of global portfolio administration at Western Asset Management. He holds an MBA in finance from Loyola Marymount University, a BBA in Marketing Management from the University of Portland, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Investment Advisor Certified Compliance Professional.
MATT CARROLL
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Joined Stonepine Capital Management LLC in 2012 and serves as the Director of Research. He has over a decade of experience specializing in accounting, finance and tax matters. Prior to joining Stonepine, Mr. Carroll ran a CPA firm, Tyler & Carroll, LLC which he co-founded. Previously, he worked in the furniture industry and at Dell, Inc. in Austin, Texas. Mr Carroll has taught bookkeeping courses and served as treasurer and founding board member for a local not-for-profit organization. Mr. Carroll holds a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from Linfield College and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
JENNIFER ARRUDA
MANAGER OF ACCOUNTING & OPERATIONS
Joined Stonepine Capital Management LLC as the Manager of Accounting & Operations in 2017. Prior to joining Stonepine, Mrs. Arruda served as the Controller for Hart, Inc, a healthcare software company. Previously, she held a Senior Associate role in the Assurance practice with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, where she specialized in integrated audits of multi-national public companies. Mrs. Arruda is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Administration in Finance from Loyola Marymount University.
KENNY STORCH
SENIOR INVESTMENT ANALYST
Joined Stonepine Capital Management LLC in 2023 as a Senior Investment Analyst. Prior to joining Stonepine, Mr. Storch was a Healthcare Sector Specialist at BTIG where he advised institutional investor clients and management teams across the private and public healthcare sector on investment opportunities, competitive landscapes, business development prospects, and assisted with the firm’s sales, trading, research, and capital markets efforts. His previous positions include research and investor relations roles at Urogen Pharma and Kite Pharma. Mr. Storch holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with minors in corporate strategy and financial economics from Vanderbilt University.
